- YES! you can get a usb device known as a dongle. my mum uses belkein ones, you can get them on amazon or anywhere reallyyy
- Go to radio shack, or walmart. And ask in the computer dept, for professional help. Do ignore this very important part of your life. check this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rfUNz81ojM
- Try obtaining a wireless network interface card for your USB port. These are very affordable. Install the drivers and your off! Now, just replace your modem with a wireless router, as routers generally speaking, dual function as modems. Plus with routers, you can share devices such as printers via WiFi or ethernet.
- There's two things you'll need, depending on what you want to do. You'll always need a wireless adapter for your laptop, and it may already have one (almost all modern laptops do). If you want to use wireless Internet in your home, then you'll need a wireless router. You DON'T need this to connect to wireless while out and about (e.g. in coffee shops etc). Amazon sell them, as would any computer store. You could either buy a combined router and modem, or a router only and keep your existing modem. Exactly what you need will depend on how your Internet connection is set up. If you buy a combined router and modem, you'll need to find out if you have ADSL or cable internet, as this will influence which routers are suitable.
- Since you already have a modem, you just simply need a router. I also have a laptop and desktop computer and I don't need to plug and unplug. I just turn on the power supply modem and router (which are plugged to my desktop), and I can eventually use the internet.
