Wireless Troubleshooting

How can I fix the wireless on my laptop?

I have an HP G60 laptop, refurbished. It cannot connect to my internet router all the time through wireless. It will work when it's wired though. When I troubleshoot, it says my default gateway is offline, and I don't think it's not. I have another laptop that doesn't have any trouble connecting to the internet. Is it possible to change my default gateway?, or should I get a new router? Thank you for your help!

2. Does your laptop have a switch or button on the side for turning wireless on/off? If so check it is switched on. It sounds obvious, but I've seen so many people not realize they have such a switch.
