  1. Hello , Connect the Pc to the Router usiung the cable . Contact Linksys 24/7 Live Chat with experts at this link here and they will email the procedure or if possible that will walk you through it if you are another PC . >>> http://www.linksysbycisco.com/APAC/en/chat .... Have the Model and Serial Number written . They will ask for them most likely .
  2. Unplug your cable or dsl modem. Turn off the computer and every other device that uses the router. Unplug the router for at least 1 minute. Plug the modem back in and let it connect to your ISP (about 1-2 minutes). Then plug the router back in WHILE holding down the reset button. Continue holding down the reset button for at least 1 more minute. Allow it to connect to the modem properly. Turn on your computer and see if that helps. If not, then your brother may have linked the router to the modem using the IP address which may have changed when you reset it. Call him.
  3. If you have cable or DSL internet, you have to setup the connection inside the router and modem. You must be able to connect straight to your modem and surf just fine. This is what could have happened, 1. Your DSL log-on info is no longer in your router. 2. Your routers MAC address was changed to work with a modem that only gives one IP address. To fix this you need to clone the MAC address of the network adapter you had plugged into to the modem when you registered it into your router. 3. If you have DSL, your modem has created a PPPOE connection without being plugged into your router. The router needs to bring up your DSL connection, not the modem.
