What do I need to setup wireless network?

I'm getting an acer aspire one netbook in a couple of weeks and i already have a dell desktop and I would like to setup a wireless network in my house. I know I need a wireless router but does it come with the ethernet cable and stuff like that and what else could I possibly need for it?

3. yes they come with ethernet cables i recommend d-link they are the easiest to setup. Most of the wifi boxes come with easy install cd's so there very easy to install. Or if you dont have a cd you can easily setup a d-link box by just accessing it its really simple get a dlink router and be happy.
4. First off, how many computers do you have in your house right now? If your desktop is the only one set up with internet in your house, then you will need a router, unless your modem is already WITH router also. Who is your internet service provider? And what is your modem brand/model number? Make sure that when you finally get your Acer laptop in a couple of weeks that it has a WIRELESS LAN installed already, this way you don't have to buy extra usb wireless adapter. With wireless lan, you will be able to detect network within your neighborhood automatically (just as long as the wireless is switch to ON :-) ). Goodluck.
