Wireless Troubleshooting

How do you create a wireless setup without a desktop computer?

I already have a wireless setup at home with everything (router and modem) connected to a desktop computer. We are now replacing the desktop with a laptop, so how can we set the router and modem up so that everyone in my home can move around wirelessly without the need for everything to be connected to a desktop?

1. you can(I know because I am on laptop set up with no desktop)set the wirless from the router to your laptop...but actually you can unplug the desktop it would not prevent the wireless signal from working...my router has no pc connected ..but In order to set the connection it had to be connected ...once set up i disconnect and reconnect at will...
2. hmm im pretty sure u don't need the DESKTOP anymore so then you would be able to hav wifi in your house so dont plug any cat 5 cables into one of the 4 ports it might disable it!
