How can I establish my wireless network on a second computer at home? I have a new computer (Vista) set up on a wireless network (Netgear router) and it is working perfectly. How can I get a wireless network on my computer? I reformatted my computer yesterday but now wireless doesn't work, so I can't connect to the internet as there is no wireless network available on it. How can I get a wireless network up?
How to delete wireless network created with XP wireless network setup wizard? I've found this question asked twice before, but the answers provided to each instance have not worked for me personally. After creating a 'wireless network' with the wizard, I can't actually find any sign of the network anywhere on my computer, so I am unable to delete it. The lone exception to this, and the only reason I even know the network exists, is when I re-launch the WNSW, I am given the option of adding new computers or devices to said network that I've created. There is no icon for this wireless network in My Network Places & Network Connections, and I have no 'wireless connections' tab to check. Thanks

It's just a plug in thing. Any ideas appreciated.

How do I connect to a wireless network, when my laptop says that one is available? I am new to the wireless networking, and need to know a few things about it. I was recently staying at a hotel and my laptop picked up about 5 wireless connections. 4 of them was showing locked, but one was showing Holiday Inn. This of corse was where I was staying. So my question is that when my computer shows for example "Holiday Inn" for a wireless connection, what steps do I need to take to connect to this network. I really need to know step by step. P.S. I am really new to the wireless network system. For example, on my desktop at home I still connect with dial up at a blazing 45.2Kbps. Any thing you can tell me will help out a lot.

Will a wireless network card still work if it is conected with a USB extension cable? In our house, the only way to get the wireless internet to work is to sit literally just outside the door with a laptop. I am thinking of getting a desktop pc and could therefore no longer sit outside! I also live in Toronto and don't want to be freezing my nuts off in minus 30 degree cold when the winter comes around! With a 3m USB extension cable, i could get a network card out through the window, but would it still work? If not, why? Is there a reason why it has to be directly attached to the machine? Thanks for your time. Thanks, but there is already a signal booster in place. It's a big house (20 people!) and i live in the basement - hence having to go outside to find coverage. The computer would be right below a window though, which would mean i could just thread the extension cord outside.
How can I create a wireless network in my apartment? I'm living in a building and the internet provided in it is through a LAN network. In other words, I connect from the wall jack to my laptop via a network cable. So, I recently bought a Sitecom wireless broadband network router, and connected the WAN port to the wall-jack, but my laptop does not detect the router? :( I setup and configured whatever's required, but still no use :( - I posted the above question and I got the below answer: Since that LAN network is shared with the rest of the building, I would not expect your router to work on it. Simply put, there's already a router between the building's jacks and the Internet, and I don't think you can stack routers like this. (By: The Phlebob) -And I think his answer is convincing. Now, what can I do to create a wireless network in my apartment?
